All patent attorneys who are accredited in Germany are bound by the rules of the German Patent Attorney Code (Federal Law Gazette BGBI I 1966, 557, and BGBI III 424-5-1) and the Professional Code of Conduct for Patent Attorneys (BOPA) (Mitt. 1997, 243). Furthermore, our patent attorneys are members of FICPI, the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys, and are thus bound by the FICPI Code of Conduct www.ficpi.org/ficpi/aboutframe.html.

They are also bound by epi’s Code of Professional Conduct (epi-Information 2/2001, 75) as well as the disciplinary rules adopted by the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organisation.

The European Trade Mark Attorneys are registered at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO, Alicante). They are bound by the Council Regulation (EC) on the Community Trade Mark.

All attorneys licensed to practice in Germany are bound by the professional rules of the Federal Code for the Legal Profession (BRAO), the Federal Lawyers’ Fees Act (RVG) and the Rules of Professional Practice (BO).
